Bloomfield Township, also known as the Charter Township of Bloomfield, is located in Oakland County Michigan. It’s home to roughly 45,000 residents and covers about 26 square miles. Bloomfield Township is unique in that it almost completely surrounds the town of Bloomfield Hills which is not in Bloomfield Township. Many times this Township is mistakenly referred to as Bloomfield Hills, although it’s not actually within the Bloomfield Township borders.
This beautiful location just 30 minutes north of Detroit, is home to some of the wealthiest and more prestigious homes and estates in all of the state of Michigan. Home to several golf courses such as the Wabeek Golf Course, Forest Lake Country Club, and the Oakland Hills Country Club, homes in Bloomfield Township sit on larger estates and acreages.
For that true water lover, there are hundreds of Lakefront homes in Bloomfield Township. Toward the northwest corner of the Township residents enjoy about a dozen lakes including Turtle Lake, Upper and Lower Long Lake, Forest Lake, Orange Lake, and Wabeek Lake. Just about all of these lakes offer waterfront homes with docks and perhaps a boathouse. Upper Long Lake and Lower Long Lake are the largest of the lakes in Bloomfield Township. These lakes are separated by a very narrow creek yet 95% of the water’s edge is privately owned estates and luxury homes.
Wabeek Lake offer some beautiful condominiums and apartments with Lakefront access and views. Smaller lakes such as Fox Lake and Haynes Lake are surrounded by golf courses or one or two homes. Wing Lake, located in the southwestern corner, is easily accessible by Franklin road which runs North and South through the Township. From here there are numerous avenues and drives that surround various lakes dotted with beautiful homes and estates.
Just about all of these lakes are perfect for small motorboats, canoes, and of course swimming in the summertime. Some lakes may offer restrictions and conditions for owning a home on the lake so make sure you inquire with me if you’re interested in a lakefront home in Bloomfield Township. If you have jet skis or small motorized boats you may or may not be able to use them on certain lakes.
